The other day I was carrying a small purse and I needed a small wallet that would actually fit inside my purse instead of just throwing my money in the purse. Which leads us to this crochet pattern…
I wanted to go for a Tanjiro themed wallet because ever since I finished Season 2 of Demon Slayer and I have been wanting to crochet something with that theme. So here goes!
Measurements: 11 cm x 8.5 cm (when the wallet is closed)
- Super Fine Cotton yarn in Black and Green
- 3 mm crochet hook
- Magnetic snap clasp
Stitches Used | Abbreviations
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Chain (ch)
- Single crochet (sc)
- * * – repeat sequence
- The number at the end of each row in () indicates the number of total stitches.
- Start each row with a ch1 before turning around.
Using the black yarn
Row 1: sl st, ch29, sc in the 2nd ch away from the hook, 3sc, change color to green, 4sc, change color, [4sc in black, 4sc in green] all across (28)
Row 2-3: [4sc in black, 4sc in green] all across (28)
Change color to green before starting the 4th row to create the checkered look
Row 4-6: [4sc in green, 4sc in black] all across (28)
Row 7-39: repeat Row 1-6 (28)
- Pockets x2
Using the green yarn
Row 1: sl st, ch29, sc in the 2nd ch away from the hook, *sc* all across (28)
Row 2-18: *sc* all across (28)
Cut the yarn and finish off. Weave in loose ends.
Make a total of 2 pockets, one in green, and the second in black.
Place the pockets on each side of the wallet and secure them. Insert your hook in one corner through both the pocket and the wallet, ch1, and then *sc* all around the wallet.
Insert the magnetic clasps in the center of the two pockets.
Aaaaand you’re done!
