Crochet Boba Coatser Pattern | Free Pattern + Video Tutorial

These bubble tea coasters are brew-tea-ful!

Coasters are one of my favorite things to crochet because they are more or less a quick project that you can finish in an hour or so and then you can directly use it! They also make great as house-warming gifts or any other gift really.

Material

  • Super fine cotton yarn
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Stitches Used | Abbreviations

  • Slip knot (sl knot)
  • Magic ring (MR)
  • Chain (ch)
  • Half double crochet (hdc)
  • Half double crochet increase (hdc inc) – 2hdc in 1st
  • * * – repeat sequence

Notes

  • At the end of each row ch1 and turn your work around.
  • The number at the end of each row in () indicates the number of total stitches.

Pattern

Using the “drink color”

Row 1: slip knot, ch17, *hdc* all across (16)

Row 2-12: *hdc* all across (16)

Turn your work to the right

Row 13: ch1, 11hdc across, 3hdc in the last st, 14hdc across, 3hdc in the corner st, 11hdc across (42)

Cut the yarn and finish off.

While keeping your work right side up, insert your hook into the first stitch (the last st that you did on the side), pull the white yarn through and ch1

Row 14: hdc inc, 16hdc, hdc inc (20)

Row 15: *hdc* all across (20)

Cut the yarn and finish off.

Count 9 stitch away from the side, insert your hook, pull the yellow yarn through, and ch1

Row 16: 4hdc across (4)

ch1 and turn your work

Row 17-18: *hdc* all across (4)

Cut the yarn and finish off.

  • Bubbles x5

Round 1: MR, 5hdc in MR (5)

Close the MR, sl st, cut the yarn, pull all the way through, and leave a long tail

  • Assembly

Using a needle and the tails of the bubbles, stitch the bubbles to the bubble tea cup.

Aaaaand you’re done!
